Welcome to the Institute of Rural Development Planning lake zone center library. The library has a conducive learning environment, where print and electronic information resources are available. The main goal of the IRDP-LZC library is to provide information materials which support the core functions of the institute on teaching, research and consultancy.
Information Literacy Information Literacy Program is provided to the library users formally. These trainings are conducted every Wednesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. It is advisable to register on weekly sessions on how to use library materials including electronic resources and other services. Trainings are conducted at IRDP main campus in computer laboratory. Those who want to attend are advised to register in advance to come and learn more on how to search electronic resources to easier the academic learning.
Current Awareness Services IRDP Library frequently receives new and up to date information. The newly received materials disseminated to the users in order to make them aware of the availability of such information through Current Awareness Services (CAS).
Internet Services The library provides to its users access to information resources from the internet to support research and educational activities. The internet as a medium for digital communication but also as the world’s largest repository of information provides a wide variety of materials, expressing various points of view. The Library provides free Wi-Fi internet services to enable its users to have access to electronic resources. Furthermore the library provides internet services through computer laboratory which is found in the library building. Access Free Wi-Fi service.
Reference Services The reference is a public or general services where professional librarians provide library users with direction to library materials, advice on library collections and services, and expertise on multiple kinds of information from multiple sources.
Vision The IRDP-LZC library endeavors to be a resourceful center of excellence in providing responsive and top quality information services to its clientele using skilled, knowledgeable, motivated and creative staff.
Mission To provide and promote most effective library and information services through the use modern technology that maintain physical and intellectual access to information resources in response to current and future users’ needs, particularly needs of teaching staff, researchers, students and any other person in need of such services.
